On April 14, 1963, Kenneth married Maxine Larue Beasley of Wilson. Maxine, born on November 29, 1943, in Johnston County, was 19 years old at the time of their marriage. Their ceremony took place in O'Neals Township, Johnston County, North Carolina, and was officiated by Rev. Felton Johnson. Witnesses included Mattie Lou Jones, Shirley S. Cockrell (Kenneth's aunt), and Fletcher Price (Kenneth's Aunt Ora's husband).

Less than a year later, Kenneth married Mauricette Madeline Quoquin Linton on January 27, 1969, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Mauricette was born on November 8, 1940, in France.
She was the daughter of Joseph Quoquin and Marie Louise Linton. At the time of their marriage, Mauricette was 28 years old, and Kenneth was 29. The ceremony was held at the First Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, with Rev. J. A. McLamb officiating. Witnesses included Eula Mae Stancil (Kenneth's mother), Joseph Quoquin (Mauricette's father), and Marie Louise Linton (Mauricette's mother).Their marriage later ended in divorce on June 9, 1974, in Wake County, North Carolina.
Throughout many years of his life, Kenneth maintained a close relationship with his mother, Eula Mae, often staying with her.
Later Life and Passing
In his later years, Kenneth experienced respiratory issues, eventually requiring oxygen. Despite his health challenges, he found enjoyment in visiting the beach as often as he could.

Kenneth and Eula Mae are both laid to rest in the New Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Kenly, North Carolina.
