Ora Stancil, the eldest of Stephen and Ronia Hill Stancil's seven children, was born on January 22, 1912.

Her early education consisted of six years at the Moore School House, as farm work took precedence over formal schooling in her upbringing.

Ora played a significant role in the household, often taking on the responsibilities of cooking and milking the cow. She recalled helping her mother, Ronia, make apple cakes, a recipe Ronia carried in her memory rather than written down.

Ora also contributed to the farm work, both at home with plowing and assisting neighbors with their tobacco crops.

It was in her neighborhood that Ora met her future husband, Fletcher L. Price, who was born on June 14, 1909, the son of Milton and Dora Bunn Price.

Ora and Fletcher married on May 6, 1931, in Smithfield, North Carolina. For her wedding, Ora wore a short blue dress with long sleeves and a lavender hat. Attending the ceremony were family members Esker Price, Joe Crockrell, and Austin Price, who were driven to the wedding by an uncle in a Model T. As wedding gifts, Ronia and Stephen provided Ora with a table, bed, and feather mattress.

In the early years of their marriage, Ora and Fletcher lived with Fletcher's mother. They also farmed on Ronia and Stephen's land. Later, Fletcher secured employment with the State of North Carolina. Over the course of her life, Ora was a skilled quilter, creating many quilts, including one treasured quilt made by her mother, Ronia. Both Ora and Fletcher were known to be Republicans.

Together, Ora and Fletcher had four children: Donnie Ray Price, born November 2, 1932; "Sophia" Lucille Price, born April 28, 1935; Linda Gail Price Stancil, born October 5, 1943; and Milton Vann Price, born January 10, 1954.

Fletcher L. Price passed away at the age of 58 on August 14, 1967, and is buried in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Kenly, North Carolina. Ora Stancil Price lived until May 2, 2003, when she passed away in Johnston County, North Carolina. She is buried alongside her husband in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
