Paul Edwin Stancil, son of Leumos and Sarah Ethel Harris Stancil, was born Nov. 8, 1923, in Kenly, North Carolina.

Paul was a World War II veteran and served in the Merchant Marines.

He married Winifred Stopford Stancil in March 1947. Winifred was born Oct. 3, 1926, in South Africa.

They had Paul Stancil II and Debra Sue Stancil.

He and Winifred are grandparents of Dawn, Christy, Tiffany, Julie and Paul III.

Paul loved golf.

Winifred passed away May 16, 2005, in Tennessee. She is buried in Chattanooga Memorial Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Paul died at 96 on Aug. 29, 2020, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is also buried at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
