Paul Edwin Stancil, son of Leumos and Sarah Ethel Harris Stancil, was born Nov. 8, 1923, in Kenly, North Carolina.
Paul was a World War II veteran and served in the Merchant Marines.
He is the husband of the late Winifred Stopford Stancil.
He is the father of Paul II and Debra. He is the grandfather of Dawn, Christy, Tiffany, Julie and Paul III.
Paul loved golf.
Paul died at 96 on Aug. 29, 2020, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is buried at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
