James Graydon Renfrow Jr., son of Graydon and Rachel Stancil Renfrow, was born in 1935.

Graydon nicknamed him "Preacher Man," Uncle Harvey, "JIM GRAYDON."

He grew up on the Renfrow Homestead and farm.

After graduation, he joined the Marines. He served on the USS Champlain. After his honorable discharge, he entered Oglethorpe University. He became a salesman.

Mary Denise Vick was a neighborhood girl. J.G. returned home and found her pretty and all grown up. Denise studied home economics at UNCG. They dated and married March 22, 1964, in Springhill Presbyterian Church. J.G. was elected a Ruling Elder. Denise taught Sunday School, was active in the Presbytery and Synod. In a few years, they remodeled the Renfrow Homestead. After 20 years with Coats & Clark, J.G. opened the successful Renfrow Insurance Agency in Kenly.

Denise opened two popular Fabric Stores. She volunteered for 4-H. She sold the stores. She found a challenging position as assistant director/planner for Region L Council of Government; she ran the Workforce Development Programs for almost 20 years.

In 2014, Denise and J.G. celebrated their 50th anniversary at Springhill Presbyterian Church in Lucama, N.C.

Daughters Meredith, Katherine (Steve) and grandchildren Thomas. Rachel, Will, Abigail and Katrina live close and visit often.

J.G. is a member of the Kiwanis Club in Kenly, a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite. He is an avid chess and hearts player and enjoys a good challenge.

For years, the family stored Reunion memorabilia. The family will always be grateful for their dedication and love.
