Wartime Registration and Marriage

Lonnie married Dorothy Gray Watson on Sept. 3, 1949. Lonnie was the co-owner of a dairy.

On September 3, 1949, Lonnie married Dorothy "Dot" Gray Watson. Their partnership would span over four decades.

Entrepreneurship and Family Life

Lonnie Pearl Stancil Sr. was an entrepreneur, notably the co-owner of a dairy. His business acumen extended to the trucking industry as well. Along with Ray and Walter, he formed a trucking company specializing in refrigerated transport. Sealtest, a client he had previously worked for, became one of their most significant customers, highlighting Lonnie's long-standing professional relationships and capabilities.

Lonnie Pearl Stancil Jr. married Martha Anne Bobbitt on October 10, 1981. They had three children: David Ray Stancil, Lonnie Christopher Stancil, and Matthew Howard Stancil. David Ray Stancil married Allison Perry, and they have one son, Mason, born in November 2006.

Cynthia Jo Stancil married Wilburn Small on August 15, 1981.

Terry Elizabeth Stancil married John Timothy Davis on October 4, 1987. They had three children: Spencer Blake Davis (born October 28, 1988), Russell Austin Davis (born March 11, 1992), and Courtney Gray Davis (born in 1994).

Matthew Watson Stancil married Melinda Gail Barbara on August 15, 1992. They have one daughter, Kay-cee Pearl Stancil, born in 1993.

Passing

Lonnie Pearl Stancil Sr. passed away at the age of 72 on March 5, 1993, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He was laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson, North Carolina.

His beloved wife, Dorothy "Dot" Gray Watson Stancil, passed away nearly 30 years later, on April 8, 2023, in Wilson, North Carolina, and is also buried in Maplewood Cemetery, joining her husband.
