Quarterback Kean Stancil (son of Mark, grandson of Ted, great-grandson of Guy, great-great-grandson of Oscar) was named player of the game on Friday against Livermore. He amassed more than 300 all-purpose yards in the latest game for Amador Valley (Calif.) High. He ran the ball 12 times for 166 yards and three touchdowns of 65, 40 and 46 yards. He completed 9-of-12 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. Kean is a junior this year and has played quarterback. Philo Beddoe takes second

Karen LaVie Luciano, a member of the George Branch, has her dog Philo Beddoe gaining national publicity. Philo is now sponsored by EVO dog food made by Innova and manufactured by Natura. Philo was switched to EVO food back in August, and he has more energy, endurance and a faster recovery time following exercise, according to Karen. Phil will be spotlighted in the first issue of Natura's online newsletter in December.

This sponsorship comes on the heels of a sixth-place finish in Chesapeake, Va., at the Oct. 5-6 event. Philo made his first Top 12 Finals, and in the finals he made his new personal best jump of 19 feet, 10 inches.
