Ruby Wells, daughter of Noyce and Elizabeth Stancil Wells, was born Jan. 5, 1930, in Wilson, North Carolina.

She married Samuel Roland "Sam" Parrish on March 11, 1946. Sam, son of Michael and Priscilla Worley Parrish, was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Johnston County, North Carolina.

Her children include Samuel "Sammy" Roland Parrish Jr., Linda Gale Parrish Poole, Bobby Carroll Parrish, Elmer Ray Parrish, Faye Parrish Langston and Kaye Parrish Talton.

Ruby worked as an assembler for Fieldcrest Mills in Smithfield for 29 years before her retirement.

Sam passed away Jan. 30, 1993

Ruby died at 74 on April 8, 2004, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield, North Carolina.

Ruby is buried in the Parrish Memorial Church Cemetery in Selma, North Carolina.
